James, "Jet" Taylor grew up in Plano, TX and attended Plano East Senior High School. James spent his college years as a shortstop/second baseman at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK. He started as a shortstop and received several defensive awards, as well as being the first freshman to start after new recruiting changes. Due to an early injury in his first year in the Frontier League, he later began a new journey of personal and athletic training and is certified under the National Academy of Sports Medicine. James has also had the pleasure of coaching for numerous Texas select baseball organizations, such as: Burkburnett Blacksox, Dallas Stars, and NTX Banditos.
