Travis attended Texas Tech University before being drafted in the 4th round by the Cleveland Indians in 1993. Travis advanced to Triple-A before his contract was purchased by the Yakult Swallows of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball League on January 6, 1998. Driskill appeared in seven games as a reliever for the Swallows before he was released and signed back with the Indians in August.
A minor league free agent after the 1999 season, Driskill signed with the Houston Astros organization, playing the next two seasons in their minor league system. On November 15, 2001, Driskill signed with the Baltimore Orioles before making his Major League debut on April 26, 2002. In his rookie season, Travis appeared in 29 games while making 19 starts going 8-8 with a 4.95 E.R.A. On November 20, 2003, Driskill signed with the Colorado Rockies but only appeared in 5 games due to injury. Upon retirement, Driskill joined the Houston Astros Organization as a Minor League Pitching Coach for the AA Affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks.
